Every day is a new day

Yesterday I had some spare time so I spent it drawing this picture.

At Mehkri Circle in Bangalore, there used to be a traffic island. There were two roads intersecting at this Circle - the north - south Bellary Road and the east - west CV Raman Road (which is named Jayamahal Road to the east of the Circle).  The traffic island was removed a few years ago, and the entire circle was remodelled in such a way that Bellary Road now dips under CV Raman Road and returns to ground level to the north. One of my colleagues has recently moved from Mumbai to Bangalore. He went to Mehkri Circle a few days ago. He saw that there was nothing to suggest that there was a Circle (traffic island) at the place, at one time. When we met yesterday for lunch, he mentioned this and asked me, "Where is the Circle?"

I am fortunate to have heard the melodious rendering of the timeless abhangs of Samarth Ramdas, in the album 'Dhyaan Laagale'. The singer is Sanjeev Abhyankar, and the music director is Kedar Pandit.
